With 83 acres of high quality mesic upland forest and steep ravine, ephemeral ponds and seep springs, Middle Fork Woods is the most significant forested natural area on the river. It is easily accessible by trail north of the picnic area located just to the west of the main bridge in Kickapoo State Park.
