This 61-acre hillside prairie with calcareous seeps is located in Kennekuk Park. It supports a mixture of prairie and marsh plants; a total of 62 prairie plant species alone have been identified by the Illinois Natural History Survey on this site. The site also includes a forested ravine dotted with sugar maple trees. Until a century ago, prairie fires suppressed the maples, so oak-hickory was the climax forest.
